Cake Development Corporation Founder and President Larry E. Masters founded CakePHP project in May 2005, and has served as a Lead Developer ever since. He has been involved in Open Source development for many years, dating back to his first contributions made to a popular PHP shopping cart, and as recently as 2004, prior to developing the CakePHP framework, he was a core developer for a popular PHP content management system. He has 22 years experience in software development, system administration, and database design. He is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm where he was an Engineer in the United States Marine Corps. His passion for excellence is shown in the code he writes and time dedicated to the CakePHP framework development over the past 5 years.

Jitka Koukalová

Jitka Koukalová has been using CakePHP since early 2006. A network administrator since 1991, she switched to development of web-based applications almost exclusively ten years later. As a programmer, Jitka is inspired by the inherent possibilities of application development and loves preemptive problem solving, as well as composing application structures. She is fascinated by the inner workings of things and delights in learning new technologies from the inside out.

After completing his secondary education, Florian Krämer began his career into database development and design. With great skill, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for the CakePHP framework, Florian has contributed a multitude of new, challenging implementations to CakeDC’s long list of successes. Prior to joining the CakeDC team, Florian worked as a freelance developer, during which time he developed his expertise in database design, project planning, and project management.

Yevgeny Tomenko, project expert and developer, is an orderly thinker whose passions for information organization and web development merge at CakeDC. With nearly 10 years of experience -- 4 as a teacher of functional programming and web development -- Yevgeny feels that CakePHP is the development "philosophy" that helps him make the world a simpler place to live. As a part of the Cake development team, Yevgeny uses his skills in parallel computing, fuzzy logic, web application development and database optimization to build and enhance client projects to great short- and long-term benefit.

Niles Rowland began his career as a nuclear qualified electricians mate in the US Navy. In 1983, his fascination with personal computers and writing his own applications led Niles to pursue a career outside of the navy with a degree in computer science. Since then, Niles has accrued a long list of programming credentials from a number of design and development projects, including a Qmail, Ezmlm and MySQL based mailing list for advertising and marketing; a highly configurable and easily expandable application for data communication with credit card processing centers; and automation systems for various aspects of customer service. As a developer at CakeDC, Niles continually learns and applies new techniques and technologies with attention to detail and superior problem solving abilities.

Mark Story combines years of experience in design and development with an insatiable appetite for problem solving and simplification. A self-described "all around geek" with an eye for design and typography, Mark joined the core development team of CakePHP as a lead developer in 2008, lending his creativity, enthusiasm, and discipline to all that he does. Prior to joining CakeDC team, Mark worked as a freelance designer and illustrator, as well as lead developer on a multilingual application used to collect financial information from over 500 non-profit arts organizations.

Graham Weldon is a lead developer for CakePHP with a passion for building web applications and community based gaming. Since 2000, Graham has worked on a large variety of projects involving simple web sites through to complex enterprise-ready integration and automation. He is an extaordinary problem solver and challenges himself to anticipate the needs of clients to provide extensability.

Prior to joining the CakeDC team, Renan Gonçalves served as lead developer on a number of projects in his home nation of Brazil, including E-coyote Hardware, Sensus Cosméticos, Toledo do Brasil, and World Trade Tickets. These projects have given him great experience in CakePHP, including the integration of Qenta and PayPal within the framework. As a part of CakeDC, Renan is a tireless and passionate worker who enjoys the constant challenge developing with CakePHP.

Pierre Martin brings an impressive professional background to the CakeDC team. After serving as a freelance developer for two years, Pierre contributed to the development of several open source projects, including an open source e-learning portal plugin and a European open platform for the engineering of embedded systems. For Pierre, simplicity and organization are key; and working with CakePHP at The Cake Development Corporation allows him to take advantage of the framework’s inherent organizational strengths to make the simplest and most user-friendly applications available.
